The venue
Stone, arches and gardens above the valley
Its stone walls and ancient towers give Castello di Rosciano a fairy-tale feel, but it’s the details that make it cinematic: the inner courtyard with its stone arches, perfect for the ceremony or a first dance under the stars; elegant rooms that blend old-world charm with modern comfort; and the gardens all around, with space for drinks and a few quiet minutes alone.
On film, light matters too: from the terrace the view runs across the valley, and at sunset the stone takes on a warmth no set designer could fake.

How we have filmed the castle
We have filmed three weddings at Castello di Rosciano, and each time the castle offered a different space for every moment of the day.
Getting ready happens in the stone rooms, in the soft light of the windows: that is where Andrea and Chloe’s film begins. In our films the ceremony has always been outdoors: on the lawn set out with a view over the hills for Andrea and Chloe and for Gianni and Sophie, with the terrace overlooking the valley for Cathrin and Philip’s vows.
Between moments, the stone staircase, the avenue and the walls give us natural frames for portraits, with no need to pose anyone. In the evening the story moves into the courtyard: strings of lights above the tables, fountains of light for the cake cutting, toasts and dancing. And from above, with the drone, the castle shows itself for what it is: an island of stone among woods and olive groves.
Before the wedding
Light, timing and venue visit
At the castle the most precious hour is the one before sunset, when the light pours down over the valley and warms the stone. In high summer it is worth moving the ceremony to the late afternoon; whenever we can, we plan the day so we have a few minutes with you on the terrace or in the gardens at exactly that moment.
We plan timings, transfers, photographer and planner together with you before the wedding. Our studio is in Ponte San Giovanni, on the edge of Perugia, a short drive from Torgiano.
