Assisi is one of Italy’s most iconic backdrops. The Basilica of Saint Francis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, looks out over the valley from the slopes of Mount Subasio, and the town’s pink stone changes with the light through the day. Between squares, stone stairways and lanes, and on the estates in the surrounding hills, every scene already has its backdrop.
We know the viewpoints over the town and the late-afternoon light, when the basilica starts to glow. For couples coming from abroad, Assisi is often the very reason they choose Umbria.
