Their day
James and Stacey chose Umbria for their wedding on 3 June 2023, at Tenuta di San Masseo in Assisi. Theirs is a deep, sweeping love, and their wedding trailer tells it through the images of Assisi: the wheat fields, the pink stone and the Basilica of Saint Francis on the hill.
For them, the journey to their wedding was one of sharing and discovery, and Umbria, with its timeless beauty and rustic charm, became its symbol. The ceremony took place in church, surrounded by friends and family, followed by the celebration at the estate in the hills, into the evening.
The trailer opens and closes in the fields below Assisi. At the start the wheat is tall and golden, the sky heavy with cloud, the town spread across the hill, the Basilica of Saint Francis nearest the camera; the drone rises over the plain to show the whole of Assisi, with Mount Subasio behind. At the end the couple walk hand in hand along a path through long grass, James in sunglasses, Stacey with her pale bouquet of pampas and roses.

From getting ready to the church
The morning is made of small gestures. In one room the men, in white shirts, braces and bow ties, help each other with their knots, then raise leather hip flasks together for a toast. In another, Stacey checks her reflection in a bedroom with a dark wooden antique bed. Then a brick corridor, an arched door opening at the far end, and there she is, ready.
In church there are candles on the stone steps, white drapes and pale flowers; a violinist plays while James waits at the altar. Stacey walks in, escorted by a man in a pale suit, her long train behind her, between pews full of guests. On the way out, the carved portal with its stone lions, petals thrown into the air and the bouquet raised towards the guests.

At the estate
The white road, the gardens, the glass hall
In a quiet moment, a white gravel road at the foot of Assisi: a kiss with the town behind them and the train spread across the gravel. At Tenuta di San Masseo the gardens among olive and cypress trees fill with guests: a violinist plays between the tables, two women in grey dresses run across the lawn with the bride, skirts gathered in their hands, and friends crowd around James and Stacey with kisses and applause. Above the hill, meanwhile, the clouds turn dark.
The party carries on in the glass-walled hall, under a ceiling of tiny lights, with the olive trees beyond the windows: speeches read into the microphone and hugs at the end, a saxophone, James lifting Stacey among their friends.
