Tenuta di Casa Bruciata wedding: film and tips from a real wedding

A restored medieval hamlet among the woods and hills of Umbertide, a few kilometres from Tuscany, seen through Andrew & Emily’s wedding film.

Andrew & Emily’s film

Andrew and Emily were married at Tenuta di Casa Bruciata: a ceremony overlooking the hills, jazz among the olive trees and fireworks to close the night.

At a glance

Tenuta di Casa Bruciata is a 14th-century fortified hamlet restored as a country estate at San Bartolomeo dei Fossi, in the municipality of Umbertide, about 6 km from the border with Tuscany. It has nine apartments and villas in its stone farmhouses and a panoramic infinity pool. We filmed Andrew & Emily’s wedding here.

The venue

Stone farmhouses deep in the green

From above, the estate sits deep in the woods and hills, its stone buildings gathered around lawns and terraces. Balconies look out over the valley, and a pergola and olive trees give shade for long dinners outdoors.

On film it is a wedding in the countryside in the truest sense: the ceremony with the hills on the horizon, music among the trees, and a party that can last into the night without leaving the estate.

On set

Andrew & Emily’s day at the estate

How the estate’s spaces followed one another in their film.

01

The morning

The bride’s friends in pyjamas on a balcony overlooking the valley, waving and laughing, a bouquet of bright flowers.

02

The ceremony over the hills

Outdoors, on a terrace with a wooden railing, beneath an arch of pink, yellow and orange flowers with the hills on the horizon. Vows read into the microphone, then an exit under confetti.

03

Dinner beneath the pergola

Long tables outdoors, a moving speech from the bride’s father, a jazz band among the olive trees, harp and violin.

04

The evening

The first dance under the lights, then the bride takes over the decks and DJs her own party; fireworks close the night.

The estate in the film

Before the wedding

Light, rain and a weekend at the estate

Light. The ceremony terrace faces open hills: in summer, a late-afternoon ceremony keeps faces out of the hard sun and leaves the golden hour for a few portraits before dinner.

If it rains. The wet-weather plan is agreed with the estate well before the day; we film whichever option you choose.

A weekend, not just a day. With apartments and villas on site, many guests can stay at the estate, and a wedding easily becomes a few days together: welcome dinner, the wedding, a day by the pool. We can film all of it as a wedding weekend.
