Their day
Rune and Cecilia celebrated their wedding on 25 June 2022 at Borgo Colognola, a medieval village in the Umbrian hills, turning the landscape into the backdrop for their special day. A place steeped in history and charm, it was the perfect setting for such a romantic celebration.
The film tells the day among the olive trees, the old stone of the village and a table laid out in the open air: the emotions and the smiles, edited into a story Rune and Cecilia will keep for a lifetime.
On set
A saxophone among the olive trees
The film opens among the olive trees: Cecilia plays the saxophone for Rune, who listens smiling, a sheet of paper in his hand. When she finishes he kneels in front of her, she touches his face and, as the guests applaud, they hold each other close.
Then the drone shows Borgo Colognola from above, among olive groves, fields and the wooded mountain, and the story moves to the preparations. Lanterns with lilac flowers hang from the olive branches; paper cones are filled from a box of olive leaves and set one by one on the white chairs; the tables are laid with yellow roses and hydrangeas.
The ceremony takes place beneath an arch of white and lilac flowers, with the hills behind. Rune waits in the sun with his friends; Cecilia arrives escorted by a man in a dark suit, and more than one guest raises a phone to film her. The vows are read in turn: Rune from his sheet of paper, Cecilia with Rune holding the microphone for her. Then the kiss, with the guests all around.

The village
Doorways, millstones and lanterns
Between one moment and the next, the village offers its frames: Rune and Cecilia sitting on old stone millstones along an avenue of olive trees, then embracing in front of a great wooden door set in brick. His arms around her from behind, her laughter, noses touching.
Getting ready comes in fragments: a pink damask cushion, a watch fastened at the wrist, the bow tie beneath the jacket, a hug between Rune and a friend, Cecilia with her lilac and blue bouquet beside a wrought-iron spiral staircase.
In the evening the drone looks down on the long tables in the courtyard; then come white paper lanterns hanging from the trees, friends dancing and tossing one of their own into the air, the couple holding each other among their guests. The film closes as if behind a curtain: Rune and Cecilia framed in the great open doorway, with the light of the courtyard behind them.
