Their day
Simon and Giulia were married in Perugia, at the Tempio di Sant’Angelo, the round church with its ancient columns. The film shows it from above, among the cypresses, then inside during the ceremony; then rice thrown at the exit and a carriage drawn by white horses.
Then the reception at Castello di Santa Petronilla, the Lemmi Scotti castle on the hills of Perugia, with its neo-Gothic clock tower: Giulia in her veil in the light of an old room, the couple in a dark wood-panelled library and in a garden among large terracotta jars. In the evening, fire performers, music and guests lifting the couple into the air, a party full of energy.
The trailer begins at the end: night-time, fans of fire, blue light over the dance floor, the couple’s names in gold lettering above the flames. Then it goes back to the morning: Simon tying his tie against the light of a window, Giulia in a satin robe beside a stained-glass window, her veil lifted in a room with yellow walls, a bouquet of white and pale blue flowers.

The church, the procession, the carriage
The Tempio di Sant’Angelo crowns Corso Garibaldi, and the film follows the procession: Giulia walks between two lines of guests along a paved street, two little girls in red and white dresses ahead of her and cypresses behind.
Inside, the film stays close to the couple seated before the altar: hands with their rings resting on a knee, Giulia laughing as she looks at Simon, the guests behind them. Then the carriage: two white horses, a coachman in a top hat, the couple raising a toast beside the horses with their arms in the air, guests celebrating all around.

The reception
From the terrace to the dance floor
Santa Petronilla is the castle that the painter Lemmo Rossi Scotti built in Neo-Gothic style in the hills of Perugia. From above, the drone takes in the clock tower, the arched loggia and the guests gathered in front of the castle; beneath the marquee, round tables wait with white and pale blue flowers. From the terrace the view runs over green hills and cypresses as Simon kisses Giulia’s fingers.
The evening has a different rhythm: heart-shaped sunglasses among the guests, the cake cut in a cloud of white smoke between two columns, a performer with great illuminated wings behind the couple. The film closes with Giulia in Simon’s arms, surrounded by guests.
