Their day
Giada and Marco were married in Perugia, at the Tempio di Sant’Angelo, the round church at the top of Corso Garibaldi, and celebrated at Villa Torranca, in the hills between Perugia and Assisi. The film looks down from above on the stone city and the cypresses around the church, and follows the day with a light touch: Giada laughing as she gets ready, the exit from the church to applause, stone steps taken hand in hand.
Then a red and white vintage van standing in the fields, the vineyards at sunset, Giada running along a track in her long gown. In the evening, the party at Villa Torranca, among stone-arched rooms and the lit garden, and the cake cutting between fountains of light.
On set
From the Tempio di Sant’Angelo to the vineyards
The first images are leaves against the light and a walk between the vines, Giada lifting her tiered tulle skirt and Marco laughing beside her. Then the drone rises over Perugia: the avenue leading to the Tempio di Sant’Angelo, the cypresses around the round church, the city’s rooftops and, beyond them, the hills.
Giada arrives on foot along a paved path, arm in arm, between the lawn and the stone houses. Inside, among the ancient columns, the celebrant reads at the microphone and the couple kiss in front of their guests. On the way out, beneath the doorway with its twisted columns, rice and applause rain down, and their names appear on screen: Marco e Giada.
The vintage van becomes the thread of the afternoon: parked in the fields, framing the couple through its own window, and back again in the final scene on the white country road at sunset. In between come the close-ups: Giada showing her wedding ring to the camera through her veil, her eyes above a bouquet of white and lilac flowers, the wind in her hair.

The celebration
Evening at Villa Torranca
At Villa Torranca the party begins in the hall with its stone arches and chandeliers: the couple walk in and the guests greet them waving white napkins. Then the music, with a drum kit filmed up close, and the garden lighting up.
Outdoors, under strings of lights and gazebos, the evening loosens up: Marco in waistcoat and shirtsleeves, Giada with her hair down and a clip in her hair, friends toasting the camera. The couple dance close in the warm light of the hall; the cake is cut beside an illuminated staircase, between fountains of light. Then they walk through a tunnel of sparklers held by their guests, in front of a wall of fairy lights, and Giada throws her arms up in front of her friends.
The edit doesn’t follow the clock: it keeps returning to the sunset, the vines and the van, and, just before the final scene, follows the couple walking away hand in hand across the lawn, towards a stone tower among the cypresses. City, countryside and celebration, held together in a single story.
