The venue
Cypress trees, gardens and period rooms
You arrive along an avenue of cypress trees, and the film has already begun. Around the villa, the gardens and the hills of vineyards and olive groves offer space for an outdoor ceremony, drinks and portraits of the two of you; inside, the period rooms host the reception with elegance, whatever the season.
We have filmed several weddings here, each with its own light and its own story: the flower-covered doorway as the newlyweds walk out, vintage cars in the avenue, the long evening light on the cypress trees.

How we have filmed the villa
We have filmed two weddings at Villa di Montefreddo, each with its own story and its own light.
The film begins the moment you arrive: the cypress avenue, filmed from the ground and from the drone, with the hills and wheat fields all around, in Edoardo and Gloria’s film. Then the gardens, where drinks drift under the trees and children chase each other across the lawn, as at Matilde and Federico’s reception; the couple leaving through the flower-framed doorway among their guests; smiles at sunset, as the light stretches across the cypresses.
In the evening the dinner table, filmed from above, becomes a single image. And sometimes the day brings a scene no one planned: at the cake cutting Matilde appeared with her hair freshly cut short, and her father’s face became the heart of the film.

Light, timing and venue visit
At Villa di Montefreddo the most precious hour is the one before sunset, when the long light runs down the avenue and warms the hills. In high summer it is worth moving the ceremony to the late afternoon; whenever we can, we plan the day so we have a few minutes with you among the cypresses at exactly that moment.
The villa sits in the hills around Perugia, a few minutes from the city and from our studio in Ponte San Giovanni: we plan timings, transfers, photographer and planner together with you before the wedding.
