hills and wheat fields all around, in Edoardo and Gloria’s film. Then the gardens, where drinks drift under the trees and children chase each other across the lawn, as at Matilde and Federico’s reception; the couple leaving through the flower-framed doorway among their guests; smiles at sunset, as the light stretches across the cypresses.

In the evening the dinner table, filmed from above, becomes a single image. And sometimes the day brings a scene no one planned: at the cake cutting Matilde appeared with her hair freshly cut short, and her father’s face became the heart of the film.

Before the wedding

Light, timing and venue visit

At Villa di Montefreddo the most precious hour is the one before sunset, when the long light runs down the avenue and warms the hills.
